Hello, RMS Author! Thank you for writing for me! I'm excited to be participating in this exchange after a break of a few years and thrilled to be getting a story in any of these fandoms. Aside from the DNWs in my sign-up, I'm omnivorous in terms of my reading tastes: action, angst, comedy, drama, hurt/comfort, mystery, PWP, slice-of-life...it's all good. I love surprises, so if there’s a story you’ve always wanted to tell for the canon and characters we’ve matched on, feel free to write that (while avoiding my sign-up DNWs). If you’re looking for inspiration, I’ve listed general kinks and some prompts, plot bunnies, or ideas for each of my requests below, and you’re welcome to borrow from them as you like. I'm so happy you'll be writing a fic for me! I say this every year, but Yuletide is one of my favorite fandom events and I get very excited about it when it rolls around. I love all the fandoms I've requested fic in, and I also love surprises, so if you have an idea or two you've been looking for an excuse to write, feel free to run with it. And if not, I've included some prompts with each request if you'd like to consider any of those. (Just please stick to the DNWs in my AO3 sign-up.)

In general, I like all genres (e.g., humor, drama, slice-of-life, mystery, horror, or any mix thereof) and am happy with any rating from G to explicit (but if you're going to write romance, please do so between the requested characters).

The Watchmaker of Filigree Street
Thaniel Steepleton, Keita Moori; gen to smut
I picked up this book knowing nothing about it beyond the fact that it had an octopus on the cover (I love octopuses) and it became one of my favorite books of...ever. I love everything about Watchmaker - the beauty of Pulley's language, the way the plot switches from crime procedural to subtle social commentary to steampunk/historical novel to romance, the way the characters are deeply amoral but you cheer for them anyway. I love that Mori is someone who both sends people to their deaths if they threaten him but washed Thaniel's dirty dishes before they met.

Some ideas for prompts, if you'd like them:

• What was Mori up to after he came to England but before he met Thaniel?
  
• Thaniel tries to read Mori’s journal as his Japanese improves. What surprises him most? How much does he understand (versus thinking he understands), and does the gap between intent and ability lead to any unintended consequences?
  
• What would Mori tell Thaniel if Thaniel asked him about his brothers?
  

Feel free to include Six, Grace, Matsumoto, or any other characters from the novel if you are so inclined.

The Goblin Emperor
Deret Beshelar, Maia Drazhar, Cala Athmaza; gen to smut
I'm omnivorous in this fandom and you aren't going to go wrong with whatever you choose to write, so please feel free to run with any preexisting plot bunnies you may have. If you're looking for initial ideas, how about:

• Maia saving the character(s) from your tag(s) of choice from danger they didn't see coming
  
• An exception to my AU DNW: How would events play out differently in a world where either Beshelar or Cala is the emperor, and Maia is one of his nohecheris? Feel free to set this alternate reality either before, during, or after the events in the novel.
  
• The characters from your tag(s) of choice are on an airship. What happens next?

Feel free to include any other characters from the novel if you are so inclined.


Doctrine of Labyrinths
Felix Harrowgate, Mildmay Foxe; gen to smut

This series is so damn good, due in no small part to the strength of Monette’s two main protagonists. I love how they support each other through thick and thin, even when they don't see eye-to-eye or even understand where the other's coming from. I love how they’re both so intelligent but that that intelligence manifests itself differently due to their differing backgrounds, and how those backgrounds let them help the other through trials they couldn't survive alone. Some prompts for this pairing include:

• An account of Felix and Mildmay's doings in Corambis, as recorded by a historian in Melusine (I leave it up to authorial discretion whether said scholar has ever been to Corambis or just heard these tales through travelers, and how many years after the events in question s/he is recording this account).
  
• One or both of our heroes must return to Melusine. For what reason? And what happens during that journey, or once he (they?) have arrived?
  
• Felix and Mildmay attend a winter festival, ceremony, or rite in any of the cities or nations mentioned in the novels.

I do ship these two, so if you’d like to put them in a romantic relationship, please do.

Baldur’s Gate
Anomen Delryn; gen to smut

Anomen takes a fair amount of—largely deserved—criticism. But here’s the thing: although they didn’t wholly succeed, I think the BG dev team was trying to subvert the horrid fantasy and romance tropes Anomen’s character gets called on. Think about it. In the romance arc, he ( cut for spoilers ) anything that looks in general at the tension Anomen feels between his paladin vows and ideals and the fact that they don’t fit into the messiness and shades of grey that make up real life.

As with my other prompts, please feel free to include other BG NPCs should the mood strike you.

Dear Author: thank you for writing for me! I can't wait to see whether I'll be getting a trick or a treat, and in what fandom. I'm pretty easy to please as far as stories go. I like everything from slice-of-life to epic fics, so if you'd like to go over the word limit, feel free! I'll be happy to get any fics featuring my requested characters, but if you do feel like doing something shippy, I've listed my favorite pairings for each fandom. I dig fluff and happy friendship/romantic fics, and Halloween is my favorite holiday, so I'd love to get something spooky too.

Tricks: Something is stalking London's dockworkers. Rumors are it's a Hindoo demon. Or Springheel Jack. Or something even darker. Our heroes reunite to investigate.
Matty is having visions. Blake and Avery are called upon to uncover what is causing them, and what they mean.
The fair is in town. It brings back dark memories for Blake. What are they, and what do our heroes do about it?
Treats:
Blake has ties to London's German expat community (because: Blake). He and Avery have an Oktoberfest beer (or two, or...).
It's All Hallows' Eve. What do our heroes think about its traditions and how (do?) they celebrate them?
The fair is in town. What happens when our heroes go?

For the Asgard crew – Loki decides that since Thor loves humans so much, he'll introduce Thor to some Midgardian culture: Halloween tricks. What happens next?
For the Guardians crew – All the members of this gang have lost someone, been lost, or both. What does a haunting look like in outer space?
For the Avengers crew - Nightmares are nothing new to Steve or Bucky. But dreaming the other man's nightmares is. Why is this happening? What (if anything) can they do to solve it?
Treats:
For the Asgard crew - Loki decides that since Thor loves humans so much, he'll introduce Thor to some Midgardian culture: Halloween tricks and treats. What happens next?

Dear Author, thank you for writing for me! So many of my favorite fandoms appeared in the tagset for this exchange. I can't wait to see which one you choose.

My few DNWs (unless otherwise noted in the prompt) are character death, eroticized rape, guro, heavy-duty AU, mpreg.

My kinks are myriad. I like the full spectrum from angst and hurt/comfort to humor and slice-of-life. I love reconciliation and two characters realising how they've misunderstood each other's intentions this entire time. Social mores and their subversion (conscious or otherwise) are a huge thing for me. Banter and bickering-as-flirting are also gold as far as I'm concerned.

I've set out some ideas for each prompt below. Feel free to use any that strike your fancy or write a completely unrelated story if you've got something in mind.

Blake & Avery Series - MJ Carter
Jeremiah Blake/William Avery
Obsession with this series has enveloped my fandom life for over a year now. I don't think Carter intends their interactions to be slashy, but to this reader's eye, they are, and in all the ways I love. I very much want this fandom to be bigger (ie, exist) so I will be thrilled with any story involving these two. If you'd like some ideas to get you started:
- Avery's nightmares are still troubling him. What does he tell Blake about them, and what has Blake already figured out? How does Blake help Avery to deal with them?
- Blake gets on the ship to America. Does Avery follow (and if so, when and why)?
- Blake has a run-in with Avery's father. How does it happen, and what is the result?
* My one request is that you don't give Helen a bum deal as a result of these two pairing up.

Onmyoji
Abe no Seimei/Minamoto no Hiromasa
I've read the novels and the manga, but as far as I'm concerned the films are the definitive version of this series and I'm always thrilled to see them appear in a tagset. I sound like a broken record in my requests, but I love Semei's wry worldliness and Hiromasa's bemused dependability, so anything you write with these elements will do it for me. Having said that, some specific jumping-off points might be:
- Seimei is asked to perform an important rite in the Inner Palace. Why were higher-ranking onmyoji passed over, and what is the result?
- Hiromasa is tapped to take an imperial message to an important shrine or temple. But once his retinue leaves the Heiankyo city gates, something goes awry. Does Seimei step in to help, or does the trouble involve him?
- An jealous onmyoji journeys to the capital to challenge Seimei, and only Hiromasa can save him. How does it happen?

Samurai Flamenco
Gotou Hidenori/Hazama Masayoshi
I don't understand why this fandom and this pairing aren't bigger. I love Hazama's naivete and passion for making humanity Do Good!, and Gotou's steadiness and devotion. These two were made for each other, and I would love to read about their further adventures. Some prompts:
- Hazama opens school for aspiring superheros and tries to hire Gotou as an advisor.
- Some time has passed since the events of the series. Hazuma's popularity with fans of his good deeds and modeling career only continue to grow. Gotou becomes his personal security guard, one thing leads to another, and...?
- And the perennial favorite: Hazuma tries proposing again. What makes him do it and what happens this time around?


Gentlemen Bastard Sequence - Scott Lynch
Locke Lamora/Jean Tannen
I've only read the first book and it's no secret that it disagreed with me. There was such an intriguing world and premise, but I spent the entire novel waiting for Locke to realise that his thieving and killing and ruining lives feels just as horrible to his victims as it does to him when he's on the receiving end of it, and he never did. Author, please correct this here.

My guro and noncon DNWs are not in force for this story. Basically, I want Locke to get raked over the coals here, so mess him up, mess Jean up, do what ever you like until Locke has that epiphany. Let your baser nature be your guide. Bonus points if Jean gets it bad and still manages to come to the rescue. Bonus bonus points if they get schmoopy about it afterward.

World Wrestling Entertainment
Antonio Cesaro/Sheamus
These two. Oh my goodness, these two. The bar brawls. The promos. The matching utilikilts. The Celtic/Gallic alliance. Anything, anything with them will make me happy. Some possibilities might be:
- It's been a long, grueling dark show/PPV/24 hours in airport purgatory. Our duo gets to the hotel and starts bickering over the TV channel, the bed by the window, who showers first, you get the picture. One thing leads to another, and...
- Domestic rivalries. Whose country does breakfast better: breakfast fry or continental breakfast? Or if drinking, stout versus wine. Cesaro likes cooking, but what does Sheamus think of his attempts? Is the way to Sheamus's heart through his stomach?
- I would love something involving all the languages these two speak between them. Does Sheamus teach Cesaro to curse in Gaelic? Does Cesaro try wooing him (or insulting him!) in French or Italian or... Do they bond over being able to talk smack at the rest of the roster without the other guys being able to understand?

- Hiromasa has to save Seimei from a spell gone wrong
- Hiromasa has to attempt magic when Seimei's unable to (because...?), and then...?
- A sutra reading goes wrong. What happens next?
- Hiromasa and Seimei journey to a distant province (or even further afield)

- What musical endeavor does Thaniel work on next? How is Mori involved?
- Six goes missing. Why did Mori not see it coming (or if he did, why did he let it happen) and what do he and Thaniel do next?
- Thaniel and Mori retrace part of the steps of the Iwakura Mission. What does Mori tell Thaniel about his experiences, and what does Thaniel think of them.
- Mori is called to serve in Ito's cabinet.


Marvel Cinematic Universe
Steve Rogers/James "Bucky" Barnes Action; angst; canon style plot; character development; established relationship; getting together; hurt/comfort; interpersonal drama; mystery/procedural*; slice of life; smut; worldbuilding

I love these two. I love stories about them set anywhere before, during, or after the MCU timeline. I love how stories with this pairing can explore questions of identity and desire in the context of social norms, be they WWII-era or modern day.
- Post-Civil War, Steve decides to wake Bucky up because...?
- Your character of choice (Steve? Bucky? Their enemies? An Avenger?) recovers evidence about these two that's been wiped from Bucky's mind and that Steve has [forgotten/misinterpreted/willfully ignored]. What is it and what happens next?
- Post-Civil War, Bucky, still in cryogenic suspended animation, is kidnapped. Who has taken him? What do they want? And what will Steve do to get him back?

*I'm using "mystery/procedural" here to mean any Marvel comics- or MCU-type superhero plot line.


Sherlock Holmes (Downey Films)

Out of canon, Ritchieverse, and BBC, the Downey films are still my favorite. I love the wit and irreverence of the first film and the blatant fanservice of the second. And this Mary Morsten is my Mary Morsten. So please give these three the harem ending. I'd love your take on how, when, and why it happens. I'm also bending my darkfic DNW here because I'm interested in your take on the fallout from Mary's eventual death. Some other ideas:
- How do Sherlock and Watson reunite after A Game of Shadows? What do they do next? How does Mary play a role?
- Sherlock, Mary, and Watson return to Afghanistan or India. Why? What happens once they're there?
- How does Watson cope after Mary's death? How does Sherlock help him grieve?
- If you'd like to rewrite your favorite ACD story or stories with these characters, I'd love to read it!

Captive Prince

These novels were so much fun. I love the mix of worldbuilding, court intrigue, action, angst, and reconciliation. I'm very interested how things develop after the events of the third novel, but if you have ideas for missing scenes anywhere in the timeline, I would love to read all about them. Some prompts for these two (and feel free to include any other characters you like) are:
- X years have passed since the events of the third novel. How have Damen and Laurent spent them? How have their realms changed?
- Damen and/or Laurent lead an official delegation to a third nation. Where are they going, why are they going there, and what happens next?
- How do Damen and Laurent deal with questions of succession? Do they see eye-to-eye on the best approach? How do their citizens respond?
- Jokaste reappears with a request for Damen or Laurent. What is it, and can she be trusted?

Seeing as you drew my name in the assignments you're probably wondering, Who is this person and what sorts of fic do they like? The good news is, fear not! Aside from my few DNWs below, I like pretty much everything and am happy with fic set anywhere before, during, or after canon. Moreover, I enjoy reading fanfiction without knowing much about the story before I start. I've listed some prompts below, but feel free to write something that has nothing to do with them if you've got a great plot bunny of your own. Also, any additional characters you'd like to include beyond those listed in the tags are a-okay by me.
