Thank you so much for writing for me! Yuletide is my favorite fandom event of the year, and no matter how busy I am I will always make time to take part.
I love going into stories without knowing what they're about, so although I've written up a list of prompts beneath the cut, please feel free to slice and dice them, or write something completely unrelated if you've already got a story for one of these fandoms that you're itching to tell.
I like all genres (e.g. humor, drama, slice-of-life, mystery, horror, or any mix thereof) and am happy with any rating from G to explicit (but if you're going to write romance, please do so between the requested characters).
Kinks: Angst, banter, found families, humor, language (and how characters use it to enforce or transgress social status), relationships crossing/transgressing social status, wordplay, worldbuilding
DNWs: As in my prompt sign-up.
Blake and Avery Series
Jeremiah Blake & William Avery; gen to smut
What can I say? I am obsessed with these novels. I love the way these two complement each other so well, and even despite themselves. I love the way Avery brings Blake out of his shell and Blake forces Avery to see beyond the comfortable “truths” of his upbringing. I would love to get a fic in this fandom, be it Blake & Avery or Blake/Avery. Some possible prompts to get you started:
- Blake and Avery are snowed in. Where are they, and why?
- Spring-Heeled Jack is after Blake, or Avery, or both. How do they stop him?
- Avery is involved in a political scandal. He turns to Blake for help.
Doctrine of Labyrinths
Felix Harrowgate & Mildmay Foxe; gen to smut
This series was so good, and I was so sad when I finished reading it. But that's where you can step in to help! I love how these two support each other through thick and thin, even when they don't see eye-to-eye, or even understand where they other's coming from. I love how their shared intelligence manifests itself differently due to their differing backgrounds, and how those backgrounds let them help the other through trials they couldn't survive alone. Some prompts for this pairing include:
- An account of Felix and Mildmay's doings in Corambis, as recorded by a historian in Melusine (I leave it up to authorial discretion whether said scholar has ever been to Corambis or just heard these tales through travelers, and how many years after the events in question s/he is recording this account).
- One or both of our heroes must return to Melusine. For what reason? And what happens during that journey, or once he (they?) have arrived?
- Felix and Mildmay attend a winter festival, ceremony, or rite in any of the cities or nations mentioned in the novels.
I am fine with as kinky as you want to go with these two.
Imperial Radch Series
Justice of Toren One Esk Nineteen/Breq, Seivarden Vendaii; gen to smut
Gah, these two. I love Breq's decency and devotion to those around her, both as an ancillary and a rogue ancillary, and the way she embodies this while being someone who is clearly not human. And Seivarden...you had me with your silent attachment to Breq in the first book. I'd love anything that explores this dynamic between these two, particularly given all the issues both still face.
- Seivarden and Breq attend a winter festival on a planet, station, or world of your choice.
- A decision must be made concerning what to do with the humans in still in cold storage as potential future ancillaries. What is it, and how do both of our leads feel about it?
- A new cult arises, resulting in a situation of your choice that Breq, Seivarden, and company are called in to deal with. What is the cult, and how do they respond?
