Holy crap, we're already halfway through August. My bigger D&D group comes out of hiatus this Sunday and not only do I not have a character created, I haven't even really thought about what character I'm going to play.

I had initially planned to play a bard, but now two other people have decided they'll play bards too, and I'd rather not have to compete with anyone for opportunities to make use of my class abilities. Cool, I thought, I'll be a rogue. But then two other people said they were playing rogues.

I've been meaning to play a paladin for a while, but we'll be doing Dragon Heist and there's apparently much less combat in this module compared to others, so this doesn't seem like the opportune moment. And I could always default to monk (because god I love monks and I will never tire of playing them) but the module only goes to level 5 and monks don't really start to get fully badass until about that point.

So, warlock? I only ever played this class once, about 10 years ago, in a group that never made it beyond fist level. There had been some drama with my current group around playing spellcasters, but that seems to have resolved itself(?) so maybe I will stake my claim and hope third time's the charm. Stay tuned...

How many people are in the group? When you said two were bards and two were rogues, my brain went "wow, isn't that everyone?" because I've never seen the game played with more than five or six people!
