First of all, thank you! Yuletide is one of my favorite fandom events of the year and I'm thrilled that I'm getting a story from you. If you've poked around my lj you'll see that I'm a fan of both slash and gen fic, and read everything from G to PWP.

What draws me most to the fandoms I requested below are the character interactions. I'm a sucker for exploring what makes people tick and how they relate to others. I'm guessing you might too since your offer included at least one of these fandoms. If you want to write a slice-of-life fic where the characters are doing their thing - misunderstanding one another, teasing each other, getting on each other's nerves and getting over it, sipping tea, whatever - I will happily read it!

That said, if you have ideas for drama, angst, action, or comedic escapades, I am a fan of those things too. I also like people butting against social mores (and the resulting comedy and drama), suspense, and period details.

I'd prefer no rape or character death, and am not the world's biggest fan of heavy duty AU (e.g. genderswaps, high school or spaceship transplants, etc.).

I like not knowing from the outset where a story is going (I generally don't even read the back cover of novels before I start) so if you have ideas for any of these fandoms, please use them. But if you'd like some inspiration, here are some musings on why I love these series and some prompts.

The Watchmaker of Filigree Street
I picked up this book knowing nothing about it beyond the fact that it had an octopus on the cover and I love octopuses. It turned out to be one of my favorite books of the year. I love everything about it - the beauty of Pulley's language, the way the plot switches from crime procedural to subtle social commentary to steampunk/historical novel to romance, the way the characters are deeply amoral but you cheer for them anyway. I love that Mori is someone who both sent people to their deaths after they threatened him but washed Thaniel's dirty dishes before they met.

Some ideas for prompts, if you'd like them:
- What was Mori up to after he came to England but before he met Thaniel?
- How many possible futures does Mori record in his journal versus chosing to forget? Is Thaniel curious enough to try and read the journal again now that his Japanese is getting better?
- What would Mori tell Thaniel if Thaniel asked him about his brothers?
- Does Thaniel want to see Japan for himself? Do they go?

Temeraire
I know I said I'm not a fan of AU, but this might be an exception. I've always wondered what would happen if Temeraire was somehow transformed into a human (or Laurence into a dragon). How would their relationship change, and would either of them want the transformation to be permanent?

If this intrigues you too, please run with it! Otherwise, I love everything about this series and will happily read anything you write for me. I love Temeraire, Laurence, and the way the interact with the other dragons and crews, so anything with this will make me happy.

Onmyoji
I love Yuletide is because there's a good chance at least one more Onmyoji fic will be written for it. I love the interactions between Seimei and Hiromasa, how Seimei puts up with Hiromasa's supernatural naivete and Hiromasa's patience with Seimei's archness. In terms of prompts, how about: Hiromasa coming to Seimei for help with a romantic rival?
- Hiromasa finding himself in a situation (supernatural or otherwise) where he has to save Seimei.
- Seimei getting swept up by a spell gone wrong.
- Hiromasa or Seimei confronting the possibility of political exile.

The Song of Achilles
This book as close to perfect as any book can get; my main complaint is that it ends. To help remedy that, maybe your fic could:
- Follow Achilles' exploits before Patroclus joins him in Elysium
- Involve a missing scene from Achilles and Patroculs' early days at the court of Peleus
- Follow Achilles and Patroclus as they prepare to be reborn after their time in Elysium (Do both of them want another stab at life? Or would they rather stay in the fields?).

As with all my fandoms, I just want more on these characters, so please feel free to write to the above or take the story somewhere else entirely!
