...but I've been attempting to write again for the first time in ages, and, to a surprising degree, it's worked out. I don't get much written in each go, but what I do write takes the story an inch or two further beyond the-parts-of-the-plot-I-already-know-about, which is unusual for me, to say the least.
I think it's due in large part to Bookstore Tension. (And also the fact that I've busted Sempai out of three years' retirement and restored her to her original American English settings.) As in, I've just found myself supremely and constently irked these past few weeks every time I've gone into a bookstore or timesinked on LT. All these other people have written books. Why the hell haven't you?
The writing I have been doing is also probably facilitated by the fact that it's a way to studiously avoid writing the crack King's Man AU(?) that's been floating around in my head for the past three years, in which Changsaeng and Konggil are still alive and scrabbling about in exile in the mountains of northern Korea somewhere alongside Changgeum and Min Jeongho. Crack.
And since I'm already going this nutty with it, why not pull out all the stops and have Hwang Jin-i decide it was pretty fucking stupid to give up the Love of Her Life because staying with him would damn her to a life-of-poverty-and-not-art, and him to a life-of-poverty-and-not-service, but then that's exactly what they opted for at the end of the series, only without one another... and they go and join Changsaeng and Konggil and Changgeum and Cheongho and hopefully we can all see how this is spiralling out of control into one big AU-crossover-Kdrama clusterfuck. (And if I can find a way to incorporate Chumong into all of this, I WILL DO IT.) Crack.
So, yeah. Compared to all that, two sentences at a time doesn't seem like such a bad deal.
