I agree. The book wasn't that good. It had moments of enjoyment but overall it just seemed like a slapdash checklist (and she forgot half the things she was supposed to deal with).

Not only did she forget them, she went and added a whole bunch of new things (The Deathly Hallows and Xenophilius chief among them) instead. Also, many of the character deaths seemed quite arbitrary to me, like she suddenly lost the nerve to kill one of the main three off and so overcompensated with lots of secondary and tertiary offings.

I had such hopes for it, especially given the RAWK that was the first few action scenes, but it just never went anywhere. Probably shouldn't be surprised.

My father's a pretty cool guy, but there's just something about the idea of him stumbling upon (and then electing to read) my slash fics that just doesn't sit comfortably in my life outlook.

We can only hope he hasn't discovered my orb- and tress-filled Anne Rice fics from high school.
