Anyone else remember those mail-order anime commercials from the late 80s/early 90s?

I bring this up because my father has apparently decided to discover anime's "sensuous, otherworldly" universe (perhaps in an attempt to share his daughter's favorite timesink?). At any rate, he happily reported to me today that he has signed out "GXE" from the local library and is quite enjoying it. I have since determined that "GXE" is, in actuality, Tenchi Muyo.

So. Right on, dad. It may have come out of left field, but right on.

My mom does that periodically. She'll come home withe something anime-esque in some sick attempt to show that she gets me. Its cute.

To be honest, I've had him watch Trigun, Wolf's Rain, and most of Miyazaki's stuff, but this is the first time he's ventured out all on his lonesome. He seems quite taken with the amount of Lady Nudity in TM, btw.
