I just stumbled across a community while surfing the Japanese equivalent of lj. What community did you stumble across, Tris, you ask?

Why, that would be the WE DON'T READ JUMP ANYMORE! community.

From the community info:

For anyone who says, "I won't read Jump when I'm an adult."
For anyone who says, "I'm an adult who's going to stop reading Jump."
For anyone who used to read Jump but doesn't read it now.
For anyone who sees adults reading Jump on the train and just feels sorry for them.
For anyone who thinks, "We can't entrust Japan into the hands of adults who read Jump!"
For anyone who thinks, "Jump was more interesting back in the day!"
For anyone who fails to understand what's so interesting about today's Jump.
For anyone who thinks that today's Jump just isn't cutting it.
...
And so on and so forth.
At any rate, this community is for people who don't read Jump.

Feel free to talk about whatever you like~

I totally didn't stumble across this while looking for Bleach communities to join, either.

これで以上です。

(coughs) I am currently being somewhat shameless, but I don't suppose you'd consider this one? http://community.livejournal.com/touchedthesky/

I would never consider it (cough, cough) because I have seen the error of my ways and no longer read Jump!

That said, you may expect an application from me shortly. :)

Jump is the most popular weekly manga anthology in Japan, and yes, almost everyone reads it. A good deal of the online manga fandoms (Naruto, Bleach, Death Note, One Piece, HnG) are Jump series.

Ohh wow! I didn't know so many popular series are from this one manga! Thank you for the info.

It sounds like if there are groups as silly as a no Jump readers community... I wonder if there's a LJ group for anti-internet campaign! ^_^

Yeah, most of the popular stuff Stateside comes or came from Jump, come to think of it. And I do believe it's being published in English as well, so you might want to keep an eye out for that!

I don't read it, I only look at the pictures.

I won't read Jump when I'm an adult.

Hee! I'm gonna be a kid forever! No responsibilities for me!

Yeah, I know, and here's me thinking: you won't entrust Japan to me, but you do make me teach your children. Bwahahahaha!

Ah, the good old 'I'm better than you because I only read intellectual things!' I wonder if they're allowed to like any manga at all, or Jump's the only object of their ire.

Ah, the good old 'I'm better than you because I only read intellectual things!'

Except that, having looked at the community, they don't only read intellectual things. Or any intellectual things, if this month's posts are anything by which to judge. Ah, the delicious irony.
