...as I am periodically wont to do. I now own 152 books which I have yet to read. In my apartment in Japan (there are another 400-odd unread books Stateside). And on top of the other 200-300 books in my apartment which I have read. Shipping my stuff out of here is going to be a nightmare.

This means that even were I to read a book a day, it would be another half year before I finished them all. And yet I keep buying more, because while everything else in this country is out-the-nose expensive, Japan does keep its print media priced for avid readers.

In other news, Shinobi (the best ever really-bad-ninja-movie-based-on-a-manga-adaptation-of-a-novel) is out on video! And yes, I do have several outstanding rambles to complete. Never fear, for the weekend is nearly upon me.

これで以上です。

When you write "book", you mean manga book, doujinshi or normal book? :D Heh, I am considering the same situation one year from now, so I decided to use a 500 yen-coin saving box, which will amount to 100 000 yens when I fill it, and which I intend to use to ship everything I am purchasing every week/month for the same reason you have stated above :D

I mean manga book and normal book. I don't even want to think about all the doujinshi I've got. That's a pretty smart idea you've got with the coin box - alas, I don't have as much time to accumulate them!

Oh, heck no. I despise this job, as it consists of teaching English three-six hours a day, five days a week.

My town can't afford to hire another ALT, but they can hire a CIR, which is what they did. So the CIR here does all ALT work, only ALT work, and nothing but ALT work.

I've had meetings with the Lion's Club and presentations cancelled so that I can go to elementary schools and teach English. It has, unfortunately, given me a rabidly bad impression of the JET Programme.

That is exactly what is happening to the 3rd Spaniard in Japan (the other 2 are here in Yamaguchi), which is being treated as a native English speaking ALT. And she is supposed to be a CIR.

I wouldn't mind going to teach to Schools (if I ever could!), but doing only THAT must suck big time. I am really sorry they don't give you incentives to stay -__-

Buy while you can. The cost of shipping manga home (sea, of course: bulk book rate is dirt-cheap but unreliable) is covered by what it would cost you to buy them here.

Also, manga weigh nothing compared to tapes (in my day) and doujinshi. I called it a steal and was grateful.

Oh, I know, I know. I spent around $600 US last time getting my stuff home, and I'd had a far smaller window in which to accumulate it.

The doujinshi is another ball game entirely. I shudder to think how many of those I've got. Tapes, luckily, I need not worry about.

The next time you tell me there's a book you have to have, I'll be pointing you back to this post. I don't feel anywhere near as bad about the 20 or so unread books I have now.

The presence of 152 books which I do have does not in any way negate the presence of other books which I do not have and need.

Like chapters of Bleach, there's always another one coming;)

Another chapter of Bleach? Really? Wouldn't know anything about that...

*innocent look*

Ooh, I'd love a membership - that is one awesome-looking site. With what may I bribe you?
