The Amazon Japan dude finally visited my house today (and two hours, I might add, after he said he'd been here). I'd tried to have him come two days ago; he wouldn't. I tried to get him to make the delivery yesterday afternoon; I'd really rather do it Saturday morning, he told me. Get this - the box for my HP book, which I could have had days ago if I'd been sharper, is coated with dayglo stickers warning that it is not, under any circumstances, to be delivered before the morning of the 16th. They've been posted over the original stamp stating the date when they'd tried to deliver it earlier this week. Hee hee.
Sad thing is, I'm so sick of all the publisher's 'Ur sp01ling teh Intranets Woe!11' C&D orders that I'm actually more inclined to read my new Garth Nix books instead. And anyway, Garth Nix is a kickass author who's taken the time to respond to every one of the emails I've sent him.
