Hmm. We seem to be writing a lot of porn recently. Notebooks of it, in fact. It was a small comfort to learn that others, including Big Jeyshika and ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
takadainmate engage in the same. Take that, nine to five grind!
Normally, I get irked when people complain about a lack of porn in fanfic, or fiction in general. Of course sex is nice when it's present, but if it isn't the point of the fic, then it shouldn't be there. By extension, if it is there and is not the point of the fic, it's usually obvious as such, and detracts from the story. (The following s3xXx0rs is totally pastede on, yay.)
It was hard to believe as a fandom noob, but once you've read a few (hundred) PWPs, they start to lose their appeal. Even if you've got a great HP PWP in front of you, the chances are the characters aren't doing anything terribly different from what Mulder and Krycek did in that other PWP you read all those years ago, and maybe you're more attatched to MK than you are to S/R.
So yeah, sex is nice but I don't understand the people who get bent out of shape if it isn't included in every fic. Except, that is, for this small part of me that understands the disappointment, if not the anger. I've utterly fallen in love with kgm, who produces amazing FMA doujinshi. Seriously, these books are beyond compare. The art, the story, the characterisation are indistinguishable from the manga proper, and have gone a long, long way toward reminding me why I fell in love with the series in the first place.
So kgm's doujin have everything the FMA manga does - the art, the riposte, the humor, the gravity, and the Roy/Ed action. Only, and here I weep, kgm prefers to call it ed * roy, and there's no sex. I weep.
But that's the thing, the foundation is so good that I just want more. And I've yet to see anyone, doujinshika, mangaka, or prose author, make kissing as sexy as this woman makes it. So I turn to the last page and hop up and down in frustration because yeah, my mind can provide the lovin, but it'd sure be sweet to see it there on the page.
