In your own space, create your own fandom challenge.
My challenge: Make a new-for-you fanwork.
For instance, if you normally write chapterfic, write a drabble. If you've only ever written fanworks, make some icons or fanart. If you've done all of the above, make a playlist. Adapt a favorite canon or setting into an RPG one-shot or campaign. Or make a work for a canon you've never created anything for before.
It's still pretty early in the new year, so keep the newness momentum going.

Well ...
I do have novelty hobbies though. One is cooking. I already knocked off "try a new ingredient" for this year. Yesterday we made quiche with scamorza cheese and Little Italy Pizza herb seasoning -- plus white cheddar and pepperoni, but we've had versions of those before. <3
We also like to read cookbooks together and mark recipes that would be fun to make. After we discovered that grating scamorza is a blighted nuisance, I looked for other recipes, and I'm tempted to try some that combine it with cherry tomatoes and fresh basil leaves. In summer, though, when those are in season, if we can find scamorza again.

We recently found kiwis with a red center. They do look pretty, but I'm not impressed with the flavor.
