Oh hey, I actually remembered it was Sunday, which means I'm actually in time to post this for once.

I woke fourteen minutes earlier than I had intended. The bed was cold; Seivarden must have risen some time before. I turned to the counter, expected to see her there making tea, but she was not. Then fought the urge to query Ship, to see where she had gone, to see whether any of my Kalrs were idle or working nearby and could be spared from their duties. I had dressed myself, brewed my own tea for twenty years before becoming captain of Mercy of Kalr. I could do so again now. I did not need anyone to dance attendance upon me.

I really like this, especially the line of "I did not need anyone to dance attendance upon me."

Thank you :) I think it's very much in keeping with the POV character's take on most things in life, which is one of the reasons why I love her so much.
