2023 was not a banner year for writing: I posted all of three drabbles (one for The Goblin Emperor series and two for SVSSS).

D & D remains a fond love and it's just dandy for socializing; plus writing drabbles really hones the wordsmithing ... Yay for your base state of horizontal enjoyment.

It's so true! I've even toyed with trying to break through writers-blocked scenes by writing them out as drabbles.

D&D is such great food for the imagination. I don't think I could ever give it up.

Yay D&D! We've started playing it again, after a long drought, this year. It really is so much fun. :D

I LOVE D&D SO MUCH. It is the food my imagination needs. Are you guys playing pre-gened campaigns or homebrews (and what is your character)?

Homebrews atm! Our current dm is a big fan of worldbuilding, which is usually fun. XD (My current character is a half-elf charlatan bard. It's very early days with her, but she has already got 23 on a persuasion role and convinced some dwarves to start a union. :D

My previous character was a gnome ranger, whose animal companion was a feral badger. I already miss her slightly, because she was a lot of fun. XD)

Homebrews are the best! My main campaign is a homebrew that's been going for half a decade now and it is an absolute world. (And one that I do a lot of writing for because of that!) Those high persuasion roles are ace. By the end of the previous campaign arc my tiefling arcane trickster could not roll less than an 18 for persuasion, which I loved but the DM seemed to feel a bit differently about XD

That does sound fun! Gnomes are definitely on my shortlist of races to play, but I opted for a goblin first and am having an absolute blast with her. (She is very food motivated.)

It's so good when you can build on that sort of thing! And that sounds absolutely amazing. I think it must be very frustrating for the DM, but it's so fun to play when characters get that powerful. XD
