I didn't bother mentioning that my building was fire again...

...because it was the 24th and we weren't there for it. (Apparently this one was cooking-related and the firefighters put it out before it could spread to any other units.)

Today I was just wrapping up my evening walk when the GC called me. "Don't bother coming home," he said. "The fire alarms are going off again."

Since I was basically back already I told him I'd just return anyway and see if I could figure out what was going on. I rolled up slightly before these guys:



Luckily, it wasn't a fire, as the fire fighters soon confirmed. Unluckily, but entirely in keeping with the spirit of my building, it was this:



We hung out outside commiserating with each other until they got Boxcutter Guy under control. At least the weather was mild. That makes three fire alarms in as many weeks. I can't wait to move.

I hope so, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are just bored of coming here...

Me too. It'll be interesting to see what sorts of mayhem New Year's festivities bring. (For my part, I hope people choose to "celebrate" elsewhere.)

Yes, the one good upshot of all this is that we have gotten to know far more people in the building than we otherwise would have.
