The win is a tie between
perseid and
metal_dog5, with 6.5 each. In second place is
xparrot with 6, then
cienna with 5.5, followed by a three-way tie between
fragilistikal,
sub_divided and
mikeneko with 5,
amasugiru with 4.5,
gameazel with 2.5, and
sara_tanaquil with 1 point.
1) Harry Potter - Snape
Oh, I love Snape. How much, you ask? He's the only reason I read the books - no exaggeration. Hurrah for intelligent, morally ambiguous, sarcastic, socially inept former bullying victims.
2) Saiyuki - Hakkai
I love Hakkai to pieces. His sense of humor is my sense of humor, and more importantly, he's the scariest SOB in the Ikkou.
3) One Piece - Zoro
The three swords. The earrings. The harumaki and all-around doofiness. And also, the opening scene with him tied up and glowering? Guh. I'm surprised
xparrot was the only one to call this.
4) Bleach - Tatsuki
I am Tatsuki, right down to the hair. What a great character she is. Realistic tomboys so rarely make a showing in manga. Anyway, I adore her to pieces, but don't feel too bad, Ishida people. He was the runner up.
5) Silver Diamond - Narushige
I love everything about Narushige. From the first scene in the garden where he busts out his sword and regulates on Chigusa, to...well, every time he busts out his sword and regulates on someone. But more importantly, his personality - the politeness, the resignation, the mild irritation with the rest of the gang, it's just so well done. Plus, he comes with Kou. 'Nuff said.
6) Fullmetal Alchemist - Maria Ross
What a great character she is. I love her back story, her earnesty, and her dedication to doing the right thing in the face of something that is so much bigger than she is. The scene in book 10 where she's sitting on the camel quietly falling apart as it takes her away from her parents and everything she knows broke my heart.
7) Farscape - Crais
metal_dog5 had an unfair advantage here, because I've expressed my love for him to her at great length before. But Crais is such an awesome character. I love the internal transformation he went through, and the completely believable way he reacted to the changes in his life. I really wonder if we would have seen more of him if the series hadn't been cancelled.
8) Lord of the Rings - Faramir
He's been my favorite ever since I first read the book at age ten. Again, you see my love of the underdog kicking in. The scene where Denethor had him in the crypt literally had me on the edge of my seat with sweaty palms. I was pretty peeved with what the theater edits of the movies did to him, btw.
9) Death Note - L
I only gave 1/2 a point to the people who guessed this, because he's my favorite character at the moment , but only because I'm doing something really cool with him for a
30_lemons bit. The real fave has yet to be guessed.
10) Discworld - Sam Vimes
Sam is such a wonderful character. I like the gruffness, and the fact that he's a good guy who would rather not be one, but can't help it. (ALTHOUGH I SHOULD ALSO MENTION THAT I DID HAVE A DIFFERENT FAVORITE BEFORE VIMES WAS INTRODUCED.)
11) Final Fantasy VII - Sephiroth
Poor Sephiroth. He got such a raw deal. I have to admit that every time I play the game, I want him to win.
12) Wild Adapter - Komiya
Way to go,
mikenoko! You were the only one who got this. Komiya's such a sweet character - doofy and enthusiastic. I love his crappy suits and bruises, and his absence is one of the reasons I've cooled on the series on the whole.
13) Koori no Mamono no Monogatari - Sergi
Hurrah to
sara_tanaquil for being the only person to get this! Sergi hits my doofy and misunderstood buttons. I also love the way his character matures throughout the course of the series.
14) Stargate - COME ON PEOPLE I CAN'T BELIEVE NO ONE'S GOT THIS YET.
15) X-files - Krycek
The entire reason I got sucked into this fanfic-writing madness in the first place. Thanks, Krycek.
And there we have it. I'll wait a bit more to see if anyone can't get the SG1 character, but in the meantime, be thinking about what fics you'd like me to write,
perseid and
metal_dog5.

As for your Stargate ♥, my first guess was Teal'c, but thought you'd be attracted to the brainy.... oh, noes!!1!! Don't tell me it's Carter!

And mmmmmm Kyrcek...I'm not sure I could name him as a favorite character-wise, but he was by far my favorite to look it, Nick Lea is just HOT! (Basically the main reason to watch OaT as well , and Ivan Surgei (?) ain't bad either)
Hmm..and for Sg-1 I have an urge to guess someone not of the four just cause no one else has...Janet? Hammond? *tries to remember other SG-1 chars*

Indeed NL is hot, and more's the pity that I haven't seen him in anything recently. I believe you mean Ivan Sergei - have you seen The Opposite of Sex? Any move w/ him and Christina Ricci is a winner in my book.
The correct SG-1 answer, btw, is Teal'c.

Re: question...
future wifefavorite mangaka, Sugiura Shiho. If you haven't checked her stuff out yet, definitely do. She is, hands down, the best mangaka out there, and I am in no way exaggerating. From:
