Bah.

So here I am, trying to write, but frustrated by the fact that what I really want to do is listen to my new drama cds. I can't because I live on the first floor of my new apartment, well within earshot of the road. My new town is in the back of bumblefuck and I am one of under ten foreigners in it. It's a panopticon - everyone knows that I speak Japanese, so the 'Oh, I didn't realise it was two guys doing that' excuse is not going to cut the mustard. Perhaps things will be different during the winter, when I can listen with my windows shut without having to fear flash dessication in the heat.

I am also having an interesting time figuring out what to do with all the bl tankoubon and doujinshi I don't want anymore. I used to just throw them out, however, trash disposal guidelines are followed with religious fervor in this city. So while it's still easy to pitch the non-bl stuff I read when I'm through with it, I'm not about to take a large bundle of bl reading material down to the trash collection point since everything really does have to be clearly labled with my name, and especially not since the old ladies here go through my trash. Not because I'm disposing of it incorrectly; I've been complimented on how well I obey garbage laws. They're just, you know, interested in what I'm throwing out. I may end up running my trash out of the city under cover of night once I get my driver's licence. Good lord.
