Today I managed to incorporate the rinse scene into the continuous narrative. Go me! Unfortunately, this means that I've run into another wall. I've got five scenes (including the ending) written, but the thing is, there needs to be space between all of them, and I have no clue what to use to fill that space.
The story will lose a lot of its impact if these events fall one after the other, but I don't want to introduce a bunch of crap filler to the story either. It's just that my characters have settled into a routine, and writing that routine over and over and over and over would be boring for me and my readers both.
So ugh. We shall sleep on this.
