Becky Lemme Smash: Goose edition
First, anyone who has never seen the glorious WTFery of the original "Becky Lemme Smash" and its successor videos can remedy that lapse here. For those who have, I wholeheartedly recommend this Untitled Goose Game reskin of the first. Anybody who's familiar with both will know immediately what a natural combination they are, but even knowing that, this remix is so good. It leaves me cackling every time. (NB: Both videos have NSFW dialogue, so exercise caution if viewing in public/sans headphones.)
Shahar Vashal - Nothing On Roar Bloom Affair
I've been a fan of mashups since getting my hands on a bunch of 2manydjs "As Heard On Radio Soulwax" bootlegs in Japan. Those, and Girl Talk's Night Ripper pretty much set the bar in my estimation, and not many other things have matched it.
This mashup by Shahal Vashar does. This is 3 minutes 19 of pure audio genius stitched together from four tracks that would pointedly ignore one another at a metaphorical party and have no business sounding this good together. And the 2:29 mark? Sonic bliss.
All Elite Wrestling Reenacts A Christmas Story
A month ago if you had asked, "Should basic cable broadcaster TNT have talent from a scrappy pro wrestling upstart recreate scenes from 'A Christmas Story' in an arena somewhere in northeast Florida?" people would probably have said "no."
They would have been wrong, because this is exactly the sort of transcendently gleeful batshit confection that works on every level and I love it to pieces. Kaz and his anger management issues as a mall Santa elf? Yes. Ricky Starks as Scut? YES. MJF as Ralphie? HELL YES. J.R. and Tony Schiovane as the narrators? You had me at their gadawful Christmas sweaters.
This is a 季節外れ rec, given that it's currently late January. I don't care. Guys, this thing is inspired.
