Ooh, I have Shelmerdine but (am embarrassed to admit) I've never cracked it open. I learn best from grammar-focused texts, so I'm a big fan of Jenney's First and Second Year Latin. I also have a soft spot in my heart for the Cambridge Latin Texts, which have a small but thriving AO3 fandom.
That's excellent that you can use Spanish at work--being able to speak/read/listen to something everyday is (at least for me) a huge boost to learning more, faster.
