Friday Flora: Arty Photo Edition

It's Friday. I am deeply, deeply thankful that it is Friday, and that I have taken a great deal of time off. (Seriously, when only three members of a two-dozen strong team showed up for work yesterday, the others having been visited by overnight wasting ailments, car breakdowns, appliance troubles, vaccine reactions, and, I shit you not, a surprise!funeral for a relative who was an uncle at the start of the day and a cousin by the end of it, you'd think unit supervisors would pause to consider what's causing all this absenteeism. But apparently not. Luckily, it is not my problem for the time being.) My job wasn't always this shitty, which logically indicates that it will not always be this shitty in the future. I'm just ready for the pendulum to swing back.

And so in the spirit of replacing irritating things with delightful things, here's a photo I took while sitting outside enjoying our unseasonably warm weather.



I just really like this shot: the colors, the lighting, the fig half bee-eaten on the branch.

In other news, I finally signed up for Yuletide, with slightly over a day and a half to go. Given how absolutely batfuck all-consuming work has been, I figured I would request and offer the bare minimum, but I ended up asking for, and offering way more. Guys, I am very excited about the tag set this year. And I mean, I always enjoy Yuletide tons, but I was not expecting to be as fired up about it as I am now.

So, uh, I'm now committed to writing a rather large letter. Dear Author, it's coming. Please be patient.
