I read the spoilers with fascination, because stuff like this always makes me wonder what the book thinks it's doing.

Separately, looking forward to your thoughts on Elder Race! I enjoyed it very much, and I don't know that I would've made the comparison to Ann Leckie, but I did enjoy the bits of language stuff in there.
